First things first, last time I bothered to write, I wrote of my brother and he and his missus's efforts for charideeeee: viz, driving across Europe in a motorised Anderson shelter. I am pleased to confirm that both "car" and drivers successfully made the trip and are a mere ferry trip away from returning to good old blighty. I think driving across the Alps and the Dolomites in a car (van to be specific) as old as me - and one made in France to boot - is good going, and I therefore commend you to visit my previous post and celebrate this act of derring do by clicking on the links therein and giving some money to a good cause.

And now other matters. I was doing "random pages" on Wikipedia earlier and discovered an entry for "wagon pop". Unsure what this genre was, I was led to a band called "The Henry Road". And it turns out that this genre is sort of progtastic. I am probably terribly late in discovering this fact, but I care not. He who laughs last... Or something.

READ, DIGEST, DONATE

My brother (aka Spanners) is a good egg and for a living and for his enjoyment does things involving spanners, oil, grease, metal and old French cars (the old bit generally only applies to the enjoyment part rather than the living bit I think, to be fair). He and his other half have decided to take part in this years "Scally Rally" which involves driving across Europe in a "banger" - and all for charideeeeeeeee.

Whilst most are driving across Europe in cheapo rusty heaps they got out of Autotrader/Bargain Pages/Ebay, etc, Spanners and Mrs Spanners are attempting this in something old and French they have built out of a collection of bits of old French rust. Spanners has single handedly spent many many many many many hours piecing together bits of rust with an almost archaeological fervour in order to build his vehicle. So sponsor him NOW please. Thank you.
