I'm not going to bitch. I'm not going to be celebratory. I'm not going to be maudlin. I perhaps shouldn't even comment. But lovely girlfriend is now ex-lovely-girlfriend.

This is a pity. But it was necessary. We both went through a lot and held things together, but there comes a point when you have to admit defeat.

I wish her all the best for the future.

For me, this whole experience has cancelled out almost all of my bad karma, so my future is hopefully looking bright!

Circles

I've been doing this blog malarkey for 2 years now, nearly. I first started when I got back from a (from my point of view) not very exciting, quite depressing short holiday. Just before I went away, my then girlfriend decided that she didn't want to go with me. Since I was taking my son with me, I couldn't not go.

Now, wouldn't it be slightly, just ever so slightly, annoying if history had repeated itself?

Metal

A quick post on the topic of music. I suppose I should mention, what with me being a fairly keen Pink Floyd fan, the passing of Syd Barrett. But I won't. It's been done to death (ahem), and there will be many folks who have written more eloquently and more reverentially than I ever would or could.

Instead, I have found this link to the "10 most ridiculous Metal album covers" which is both better written and a lot wittier than anything I can manage at this time of the night after this much vodka. All in all, it's a lot cheerier than me blithering on about Syd and Floyd as well.

And if that link isn't cheery enough, why not try Nudist Trampolining?
